I must admit, throughout the past two weeks I have questioned my sanity about launching this blog pre-Chrismas. One of the things Tony and I do to earn some cash is to sell our crafting efforts at local Christmas Fairs, although to be honest, this year we’d only booked in two. That was still enough to cause my usual après -air impression of a headless chicken as I checked over the stock, repaired and repackaged where necessary, and concocted a new display arrangement. That was on top of my usual baking/cooking and writing jobs – hence why I’ve been rather quiet here.
Anyway, the fairs are now done and dusted: one was a challenge (think feral packs of children full of sugar!), and the other, in the beautiful cloisters of Gloucester Cathedral was better than ever! Our stall looked fantastic, and we sold more than any other year! My repaired and repackaged candles were a huge hit, as were last year’s Christmas Spice scented soy candles. Before going, I had thought that this might be our last one there (I’m now concentrating on writing more than crafting), but after such a fantastic result, it looks like we’ll be back again in 2019.
